Watching the car pushed into the cliff while eating wagyu beef

D for Driving into a Cliff, R for Reverse

[CNN] Obama won’t ditch car metaphor

The ever morphing metaphor has a car driven into a ditch by Republicans, the President and Democrats trying to push it out, and Republicans either sitting in the back seat, standing around sipping Slurpees, fanning themselves or kicking dirt in Mr. Obama’s face. Asked about the danger of this campaign message sounding like a broken record, Gibbs replied that “the record of the last eight years was pretty broken.” “We don’t want to walk away from that. That’s what got us into this mess…I think the president will continue to talk about it,” he said.

Pedal to the metal.

Obama just laid down this stone for the American Dream

It Is This Kind of Stone.

[Michelle Malkin] The gloater-in-chief: “Another stone laid in the foundation of the American dream;”

President Obama actually said this in reaction to passage of the Demcare monstrosity:

It’s “another stone laid in the foundation of the American dream.”

And the Obaman nightmare has begun.

The Bribe of Barackenstein

The Monster Entitlement

[Michelle Malkin] The Obama way: Bluster, bully, bribe

The White House took great offense this week when conservatives suggested President Obama might be trading a judicial appointment for a wavering Democrat’s vote on his health care reform plan. “Absurd,” a miffed administration official told Politico.com. Wherever could the American people get such an impression? Let us count the ways.

On Wednesday, the very day President Obama hosted ten swing Democrats who had opposed the expansive health care takeover bill in November, the White House issued a press release trumpeting the nomination of Scott M. Matheson, Jr., to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Matheson just happens to be the brother of Democrat Rep. Jim Matheson of Utah – one of the 10 invitees invited to sip wine and nosh on calorically-correct appetizers with the arm-twister-in-chief.

It just won’t stay dead, and now it brings corruption to the world.

Debtocrats: Surely drowning America in a way a "man-made" global warming can't.

Impressively Breaking Yet Another Record of Debt

Michelle Malkin: Debt deluge: Here comes the $1.6 trillion flood of red ink

Peter Orszag blogs this morning about the newly unveiled, $3.8 trillion White House budget: “The Budget lays out a plan to put the country back on a sustainable fiscal path.”

Via the House Republicans, this is what the Obama administration’s idea of a “sustainable fiscal path” looks like:

***

The WSJ breaks the debt deluge down further:

President Barack Obama will propose on Monday a $3.8 trillion budget for fiscal 2011 that projects the deficit will shoot up to a record $1.6 trillion this year, but would push the red ink down to about $700 billion, or 4% of the gross domestic product, by 2013, according to congressional aides.

The U.S. won’t drown from the “man-made” global warming. It’ll drown from the red ink courtesy of Mr. Barack “Spending Freezer” Obama.

Hope and Change = Hoping for some spare change.

Get help at the Ideologue Anonymous, sir.

Really?

Commentary Magazine: Obama: “I Am Not an Ideologue”

Barack Obama’s claim to the GOP lawmakers today — “I am not an ideologue” — calls to mind Richard Nixon’s famous claim, “I am not a crook.” Unfortunately both Messrs. Obama and Nixon were what they claimed they were not. Now being a crook is much worse than being an ideologue; but being an ideologue, especially a liberal one, can have its own high costs, as our 44th president is discovering.

What’s that thing about the river in Egypt?

Doug Ross: Un-frickin-believable: U.S. Military Serving as Chauffeurs, Babysitters for the Pelosi Kids: Receipts That Will Blow Your Mind

Meet the Pelosi family! Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of military aircraft.

What hasn’t been revealed so far is that military aircraft are being used to shuttle Pelosi’s kids and grandkids between DC and San Francisco without any Congressional representatives even onboard! Put simply, the United States Air Force is serving as a multi-billion dollar chauffeur- and baby-sitting service for Nancy Pelosi’s kids and grandkids — presumably because commercial travel is beneath the families of the autocrats.

But this couldn’t be a waste of resources because the U.S. military really isn’t engaged in any other significant activities around the world

She is Nancy Pelosi. Elections have consequences. Just blame the lefty dumbos who voted her in. Things could be worse, you may have to pay for her Botox, too.

Hoboucus (D-Mont): "We have gone to the restaurant. We have eaten the meal. Now the only question is whether we will pay the check."

Only $1,900,000,000,000?

Yahoo! News: Democrats propose $1.9T increase in debt limit

WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats on Wednesday proposed allowing the federal government to borrow an additional $1.9 trillion to pay its bills, a record increase that would permit the national debt to reach $14.3 trillion.

Trillion is the new billion.

It’s hardly the debate Democrats want or need in the wake of Sen.-elect Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts. Arguing over the debt limit provides a forum for Republicans to blame Democrats for rising deficits and spiraling debt, even though responsibility for the government’s financial straits can be shared by both political parties.

Who tripled the deficit, again?

Congress has never failed to increase the borrowing limit.

“We have gone to the restaurant. We have eaten the meal. Now the only question is whether we will pay the check,” said Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. “We simply must do so.”

A White House policy statement said the increase “is critically important to make sure that financing of federal government operations can continue without interruption and that the creditworthiness of the United States is not called into question.”

Less than a decade ago, $1.9 trillion would have been enough to finance the operations and programs of the federal government for an entire year. Now, it’s only enough to make sure Democrats can avoid another vote before Election Day.

Yeah, we eat, you pay.

Back to the Future: Boston Style

NRO: Team Coakley: The Integrity of This Election Is In Question

A media source in Massachusetts sends word:

Kevin Conroy, Coakley’s campaign manager, says “we have gotten several disturbing incidents from the polls calling the integrity of this election into question.”

Nobody’s taking this live; the word “desperation” is being tossed around this newsroom…

He says they’ve gotten reports of five ballots, premarked for Brown, being given to voters entering the booths. This is very, very desperate.

Statement here. A pair of sharp eyes notices that it’s dated YESTERDAY, January 18.

It’s a typo, Team Coakley will undoubtedly insist. Not evidence that this is their pre-planned mischief to gum up the works of a big Scott Brown win

The Democrats just hit 88 mph to Desperation, MA.

License to Slur (a.k.a The Democratic Party membership card)

What, No Beer Summit?

AP: Reid apologizes for ‘no Negro dialect’ comment

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Obama is the nation’s first African-American president.

The Masters of Political Correctness are never political nor correct in private, the Champions of Tolerance are intolerant away from the public eyes and the Liberal Left is not liberal nor respects no liberty.

Politico: Sharpton backs Reid

Another unsolicited statement, as Reid’s camp works frantically to put out the fire:

I have learned of certain unfortunate comments made by Senator Reid regarding President Barack Obama and have spoken with Senator Reid about those comments. While there is no question that Senator Reid did not select the best word choice in this instance, these comments should not distract America from its continued focus on securing healthcare or creating jobs for its people. Nor should they detract from the unquestionable leadership role Senator Reid has played on these issues or in the area of civil rights. Senator Reid’s door has always been open on hearing from the civil rights community on these issues and I look forward to continue to work with Senator Reid wherever possible to improve the lives of Americans everywhere.

Having a [D] next to your name really does give you a license to be bigots. Imagine the outrage if it were Harry Reid [R]

Update:

CBSNews.com: Harry Reid Gets Support from Eric Holder

Eric Holder, the nation’s first black attorney general, defended Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday over racial remarks the senator made about Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Holder told The Associated Press that Reid is a good man, and as Holder put it: “I don’t think that there is a prejudiced bone in his body.”

Holder didn’t dare calling out Reid. What a coward! The Democratic Party is the party of cowards.
